Working with M&C Saatchi, the brief here was to think up a bespoke creative concept that would be used as part of PC World’s exclusive sponsorship of “The Gadget Show” on Channel five.

Recognising some limitations with scaling the Flashtalking video component in AS2 using ActionScript, we wrote our own custom video component with bandwidth detection using standard Flash technology. All the assets within the ad including images, text and the absolute URLs to the FLVs, were content-managed through Flashtalking’s ‘Instant Ads’ product meaning we could update any or all of the assets without having to re traffic the creative. Some sophisticated targeting techniques were also employed to tailor the content within the ad creative according to what a user was browsing and to help deliver an even greater level of contextual relevance.

Our efforts were enough to win industry recognition as a runner-up in Flashtalking’s campaign of the month. Retail is detail as they say!
